I've had this unit for about half a year now. I used it as a cheap way to utilize the roland expansion boards. But for the internal sounds, you can get this thing for pretty cheap with great sounds. The piano sounds are fair but it has good basses, funk guitars, and some nice warm strings. The horns and sax sounds are pretty good also. All waveforms are editable as well. For the amount they are going for, it is a bargin. Plus it is great if you just need the sounds of any particular roland expansion board since it has a slot for it. This is great for the beginner or those on a budget. I got mine for less than $175. I give it a 5 taking in consideration of the price and what you get out of it.

I use the JV880 as the "filler" in my sound.

Great sounds for "carpet" use like the piano ,string or layers of both.

The only sounds that dissapoint little are the brass sounds, the rest is very nice and usable.

The drum sounds are very good but not too many sounds are there.

I want to keep this module ,and soon I'll buy a 2nd hand board for it so you have over 400 sounds in just one 19" VERY IMPRESSIVE!

Looking for general sounds then this is the one to get (unless brass is your thing).
