Till Tippel a hobbyist user from Germany writes:
Righto, strings and pads rule; the bass does definitely not; i can't get

anything really deep out of it. And what seems to be the triangle waves

(wave #23 or so) produces noise if you press more than one key. If anybody

knows the cause of this, mail me, please. All in all, good strings, fairly easy to prog, so if you see one cheap,

get it

Eric Colin a part time user from THE NETHERLANDS writes:
This was my first digital synthesizer. Great sounds for beginners. Lots of useless sounds as well. The strings are the best sounds in the K1. The multimode allows it to hooked up to a sequencer. The keyboard is ok for the price, though the feel is somewhat artificial. If you want a K1, go for the K1 mark 2 (K1II). It has more polyphony (32) and has a FX unit as well.

Geza Sarvari a 0 user from HUNGARY writes:
Well, nice strings, pads, the rest is not so good. The rubber buttons tend to stick.

I have the K1m which is the tabletop version, so I can't say anything about the keyboard.

Lotsa interesting sounds though, a bit thin...

Steve a part time user from United States writes:
A great synth for it's class and time period. You can program some pretty

spacey weird stuff with it to.. definetely pick one up to add to the collection.

It may not be the most convincing synth but is great for psychedelic sound

effects and the action of the keyboard is very nice.

Nathan Cairo a hobbyist user from The Netherlands writes:
Two years ago a bought the Kawai K1 synthesizer just because of the low prize. But soon I discovered that

lots of great sounds can be made. All it takes is good imagination. I agree that the acoustic piano sounds

(for example) sound like hell, but for synthetic sounds your K1 will do fine. I, for myself have created

some great (analog) synthesizer sounds, both thick sounds and smooth ones. The only thing that bugs me

is the lack of RAM and efects such as chorus and reverb.

The keyboard plays great. The touch is not to heavy and also not to light. The aftertouch function is great,

especially because you wouldn,t expect that from such a cheap synthesizer.
