I made a new KAWAI Gmega / K11 page with info, .mp3 sound examples and an editor for Emagic SoundDiver.

Please take a look and tell me what you think.

This was my first synth. I eventually upgraded to an Alesis QS for better sounds, but for the most part I was pretty happy with it. I used it playing live in an R&B band. I only needed a handful of sounds - a piano, an EP, an organ, sawtooth synth, brass stabs, string pad - and I was able to find workable patches for these needs. The are a couple of surprisingly decent pianos, though most of the acoustic instruments are pretty unrealistic and thin. The feel of the keyboard is quite good in my opinion. Its unweighted keys, but it doesn't feel as flimsy as some I have seen when shopping around (e.g. Roland XP-10, E-MU PK-6). I never tried getting into sound programming, but for basic use its pretty straightforward, and it allows splitting and layering sounds. I had no trouble with reliability. Overall, its a good starter synth.

Muzikal Gem a professional user from London writes:
It was the first ever keyboard that i bought six years ago and compared to the yamaha sy55 and 85 it sucks but it does have the benefit of having to midi in and outs which allow you to daisy chain your modules, it also has very nice piano sounds, which I would suggest that one needs to alter some of the sounds in the sp factory and something quite new could evolve, buy it for budgeting circumstances it's best use falls under the master keyboard criteria.
