Van A. Sikes a hobbyist user from USA writes:
Too early to draw conclusions, but, IMHO: PROS:

Terrific sound selection and parameter control.

Range extends with separate controller up to 88 keys CONS:

Best for solo or small chords because note stealing occurs easily beyond that if sustained.

Black keys more narrow than standard size - fingers easily slide off.

It`s fantastic, fabulous and it`s a god... not Himself, but as a synth! ;-)

After Roland`s D-50 i was sure there would not be a synth what could make

"real" odd noises and sounds, but when I after a long obsession to test

that synth played K5000s I was totally shocked... those sounds and what u

can do to them... Oh my God!!! It`s perfect... no wonder they say you can create

your own world of sounds with it! If you don`t know what am I talking about and

you have NOT tested it before... it`s about time to do it, to change your

definition of a good synth.

Jose Plehn a hobbyist user from USA writes:
The K5000S is VERY digital-sounding. It has a recognizable sound, and lots of

depth. It would take a year to learn how to program it fully, but thanks

to the knobs, you can start from the presets (which are quite good), and

fool around with the knobs. This and the microwave II are the only two machines

I think are worth having two of, if any. Polyphony can get eaten up fast, so

if you plan on using it heavily, you might want to save for the module as well.

This keyboard can make some truly bizarre sounds. The user-assigned knobs allow for realtime expression, and the flexibility of the synth engine allows for a really wide range of sound. If you're looking for more stuff, visit my site at www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Lounge/6766/joes.html

David Beckman a part time user from USA writes:
The K5000S is the best digital synth ever in my opinion! It has the most powerful (and complex) Additive Synth engine ever. It can make really strange sounds and is perfect for Ambient, Experimental and Trance music. The only drawback of the K5000S is that there are no Drum kits and the bass sounds are kinda weak. I use the Alesis DM5 for drums and the Nord Lead for Analog and Bass sounds. In my opinion the K5000S is the coolest synth I've ever touched.
