this is a great instrument I bougth it second hand for $550. in the begining I was really confused on how to use it but after a while I got use to it. I really haven't got into programing my own sound yet because I have been happy with the presets and some stuff I got from the web. I make new age music so this is perfect for me.

For god sakes get softwear V 4.04.......... IT makes a huge differince no more choppie pitch wheel and smoooooother knobs .Ask for troy at kawai in compton CA. PS The K5000s is a killer synth!!!!!!!!!!! I will never understand why Kawia gave up on it so fast.

This is a killer synth because the sounds are great. it really takes a long time to program however at the end it really pays off. if you are into making ambient this is the synth for you. just be real care full when playing with some of the knobs, because this synth fires out some really sharp sounds that could damage your speakers. and if you don't belive me just try it and see. I wish that kawai came out with the K5000s MKII that would be great.

Nathan Profitt has wrote " this thing is a Monster " and he is really sure ! Ive bought my 5000S only 2 months ago, the first impression was deception ! but now after have learned a half dozen of things about it... ahh.. Im falling in love: Its absolutely strong and versatile...but nothing is perfect, the push buttons (argh!!) are driving me crazy.

andy k. did you know there is a chip you can buy and put in the 5000s that increases the patch memory by 50%. its very small and it goes in a little panel on the bottom of the case. simon i do believe that you can increase the sensativity for the keys velocity? i have never had to. no its not the weighted keys type of feel. but it is better than any other synth key feel that i have ever tryed on most synthes except for things like the triton pro or motif 8 or roland 88 key stuff whatever. im not in the mood to research this right now but i do think that the wizoo guide can tell you how to change the velocity and aftertouch. i have never tryed to but. does any one know if i can create splits in the board. i have anouther one of these buggers that i bought online, it had no sound at the main outputs but i think it could be a simple fix. just never got around to it. chances are i could use the bottom four twisty knobs to control the other keys below. via midi. i use it as my main controller. i have had freinds over and they are amazed by the sounds they hear. the wizoo guide is hard to find. but i found one in london and it comes with a flopie
