I got my Q-80 back in '91, along with a Kawai K4... don't have the K4 anymore, but still have the Q-80! I've found it to be great for controlling most pieces of gear, and it slaves well to my Yamaha MDS4. The quantize and editing functions serve me well for adding additional notes (handy for making realistic drum patterns), and can record patterns from other MIDI drum machines or "idea stations" (like the Boss JS-5 JamStation), and then tweak those patterns.

I've moved a couple times though... I tried to save the songs that were in the memory and the LCD keeps saying "Disk unavailiable", even though there is a disk in the drive. If anyone can tell me, I'd really appreciate it.

Good, stable and very easy to use sequencer. Each midi event can be manipulated in the event edit mode.

Unfortunately, the dial has gone on mine. Does anyone know where I can get this repaired?

Thanks

I find the Q-80 to be an incredible sequencer, as good or better than the most sequencers, soft or hard. I've managed to put together over a thousand sequences of pop music etc. with complete arrangments and make a steady living out of performing them at a variety of gigs, six to seven days a week! I've done this for over 15 years! Reliable is only the tip of the iceberg but remember it's a machine and it only knows what you you tell it! It's only as good as you are! Meet you at the coda! TC

the q80 is slightly or dramatically this means that the overall notes will contain avariety of tonal and rhythmical qualities .....or non.

The Q80 is a reliable and solid Hardwareseq. I still use it for many things. The thing is well designed and easy and flexible to use.Memory is mostly enough. Nothing to complaint about.

The goodies of Softwaresequencers are of course missing, but sometimes I do only need a handful of functions. The Q80 is perfect for it.
