This little sequencer is the best stand alone 32 track sequencer I've ever used. It's so easy to use that I would reccomemed it to anyone wanting to do some quick composing.. I love it and would never part with mine. I only have one gripe.. If you have to exceed the 32 note polyphony max with 2 midi modules you'll hear a beep and get an error message. other than that I really do wish that even with all the soft synths and comp sequencers out there Kawai would produce a another 32 track 64 note polyphony intergrated syth/sampleplayer/sequencer in one, soon...

i can't get my recently purchases q-80 to respond to incoming midi signals! i can sequence in step and trigger other synths fine but if i can't use a keyboard on the damn thing i'm screwed! when i go to MONITOR section and send note data over, voice 1 does NOT appear underneath like it says it should. If i switch channels, same thing. COULD THERE BE ANYTHING I'M OVERLOOKING? I need to find an answer fast i'm recording a "live" style album and need to sync a few analog synth parts with the rest of my rig, this is the only unit i have that can do it!
i know its not the controller, what can i do on the q-80 to remedy this, if anything? Is it possible my MIDI IN port is damaged?

I have the original Q-80 and it has got to be the best sequencer I've used, software and hardware regarding. It's versatility and features are unmatched. Great for producing music of all genres. Plays a major role in my studio and I haven't had any problems with it. Also, manual is very well written and easy to understand!
Although, I can't imagine anyone wanting to part with one, I'm looking for the EXe version (which seems to be impossible to find now). E-mail me if you have one you're willing to let go.

Yeh its a great tool but be easy on the sys ex, i almost hung myself after loosing 4 hours hard work when the q80 crashed with in I/O error and re-booted itself...aghh. OK i was pushing the sysex a bit but i didnt expect a system crash! Keep to the basic midi and tracks and this tool is the best you can get.
