First, keyboard feel/action. There is a particular thrust feeling in the keys that set this keyboard apart from many other "synth actions". It's a light touch (unweighted) but has some interesting springs which give enough tension to feel great.

Second, sound. It was years ahead when released in '92, and most of the sounds hold up to recent synths. The dual effects section is VERY clean and each has 2 band EQ... very effective. No resonant filters, but tricks can be performed with the "waveshaping" feature as well as the effects to provide what you need.

Third, support. LOTS of people out there using this board are on the web. A Yahoo egroup devoted to the 01/W has all you need, advice, patches, parts sources.

Finally - I've owned an 01/W in some form (non-floppy, FD and now the Pro) since '93. It's still an inspiration and a pleasure.

I PLAY A KORG 01/W AT MY CHURCH ..MY PASTOR HAS HAD THAT KEYBOARD SINCE LIKE 1992..IVE BEEN PLAYING IT FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS NOW..I THINK THIS KEYBOARD (LIKE EVERYONE HEAR SAYS) THIS IS FAT ...THE SOUNDS THE MIDI EVERYTHING ..I LOVE PLAYING THIS KEYBOARD...YOU CAN USE IT AS WELL AS IN JAZZ OR IN POP MUSIC..ITS GREAT!!!!...ANYWAY ENOUGH ABOUT MY INTEREST THE REASON IM WRITTING ON HERE IS BCS IVE BEEN TRYING TO GET AN OWNERS MANUAL FOR THIS KEYBOARD AND I CANT SEEM TO FIND ONE...IF ANYONE THAT READS THIS KNOWS WHERE I CAN FINE ONE PLEASE EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW..ILL BE MORE THAN THANKFUL....THANK YOU.
