it's a good all-in-one synth, though not the best at today's standard(u know its 32voice polyphony compared to today's 128...)if u wire pop/jazz/rock/etc..it's good 4u,except techno which needs real analogs.so u got it,it's weak in analog stuff, but, overall the sound is satisfied by general use.this fd model got floppy drive is a good point to save all sound prog and seq data.the drums and perc are the best in itself.other classic tone of it is synth strings, human voice, piano, etc.and,a nice lcd too.

WOW! I was one of the first that had one here in holland. Everybody told me it was great and they still do. And what's more they are right!

It was my first synth. I really knew nothing about synths at the time, but it's so easy to use. I was programming my own sounds and sequencing right away.

The waveshaper is not easy to control, but it has made me come up with the best digital sounds i've ever heard.

I love it!

I KEEP BREAKING KEYS. THATS THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY THATS BAD ABOUT THE 01WFD. I'M GOING TO CUT THE TOP SO I CAN REPLACE ALOT QUICKER WHEN I'M AT A JOB. GREAT SOUNDS BUT NOT A VERY DURABLE PIECE. MY WINDOW SCREEN IS STARTING TO GROW DIM. 10 YEARS OF HARD PLAYING AND I GUESS IT'S TIME TO RETIRE IT. DON'T GET ME WRONG I TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT. I JUST WORK IT TO DEATH. COFFEECAM1@AOL.COM

I have had the Korg 01/Wfd for a little over 8 years now. I for one, have never had any problems with it. I have not had the sticky keys problem, have not had any midi sync problems, or anything of the sort. I reckon I must be one of those lucky people or something, I don't know. But the sounds, are very kewl! The only gripe I have is only 2 effects, and also no resonant filters, but when combined with Cakewalk, problem easily solved (not to mention that I have never had any MIDI sync problems with Cakewalk, all my tracks are synched perfectly). Granted, there are a lot of new synths out there that can out do the 01/Wfd, since it was released damn near 10 years ago, but for those who have one, or those who want an inexpensive workstation, the 01/Wfd is one I highly recommend.

I'm useng O1/w in my church... I love it very much... I love every sound in it!!! it's just plain great... it's really great, even though I had trinity and XP-80 (I'm not going to compare them , because I also really love my trinity and XP-80). my onle problem is the sticky keys problem...I haven't experience it with my trinity and i3, but the M1 has the same problem... its really anoyying and I have already repair it for a few time for the same problem... for closing... the sound is phenomenal... and it will always be.
