I have been using it for the last 6-7yrs (as soon as it was released in Australia), and think that it has been the best thing since the invention of sliced bread. I have used it in live performances (live playing & also the sequencer)and also at home when creating my own music. We need more software support, in order to interface with a PC. Thanks

I love some of the sounds (pan flute has a presence and bite, The Legend sounds better than my dedicated rgan module). Keyboard is OK, i guess... I hate the XY controllers so many of these machines have. I wanted to use a Mod Wheel to controll Leslie on-off when using organ patches or external assignment, but the controller resets itself. Had to use up one of the two control pedal inputs just to control Leslie! Also, the box is heavy compared to many. Still, I bought it for the solo sounds, and am not disappointed in them.

I like my Korg but I'm not sentimental about it. If I had to give it up, though, there would be, like all the keyboards I've had, one or two particular things that I would miss very much. On my 01/W it would be the several variations I've made on the factory program present B14 (a 'heavy metal' guitar with echo), done mostly by changing the effects; I've turned it into a very awesome (and DANGEROUSLY loud) palette of guitar sounds, a lot of them sounding like something you'd hear on a Mötorhead album. Unfortunately I've maxxed out the possibilities there, there's really only a couple of parameters you can tweak. I also like the traditional (not B2, that is) organ sounds my Korg makes. What I don't like are it's lack of a resonance filter (no techno possible) and it's limited set of drum sounds (little in the way of hiphop possible).

I just got my O1 yesterday and have already fallen in love with it. It sounds have a presence and a bite that was lacking on my xp-50 (don't get me wrong, the xp-50 is a great synth but the O1 is much easier to work with and sounds better). It's combi mode is a god-send, it's very easy to set up performances. Overall it's a very kick-ass machine.
