Nice RAM sounds, easy to use. Optimal for fast song-writing. The solo instruments should be a little bit better.

Mike Hehir a hobbyist user from Australia writes:
The GM sounds are pretty thin and the LCD\screen is kinda crammed and confusing, but if you tweak the thing as I do through a signal processor the overall tones at volume max>> are passable . However expect problems switching from your sequencer whilst patching tones ... Right now my Mac crashes in Master Tracks Pro if I even touch the tempo interface...hmmm. annoying But overall I'm happy with my 05R/W.. Cheers from Mike..

Ger Dik a hobbyist user from hOLLAND writes:
I only have my 05R/W since April '97, so i'm still exploring the technical details. But I think I can say something about the way it sounds. If compared to the Roland SoundCanvas products, the Korg has less sounding pianos and guitars. On the other hand the organs, bass-guitars and choir-type sounds are superior. I use the 05R/W in a small setup together with a simple keyboard and a sequencer to write and arrange songs at home. I chose the 05R/w because it has a typically Korg-like mysterious character, a bit like a late night, neon lit scene from a street in a big city in the far east. This is just the thing I need for the kind of music I like to make.

Patrick Adami a professional user from US writes:
I think this a pretty good unit for the price. I bought mine used and when I'm using the piano sounds when i play chords some of them sound out of tune. Very frustrating. Also can you actually load sounds onto it and is there anyone out there who has the list of presets?
