Very "out-there" type synth... Two parts multi-timbral I belive (I think you can have more than that via midi, but I got mine without a manual *sigh). My first FM synth, got it for about 200 bucks.
Great fricken buy. All the factory presets sound tinny and cheap, but just work on the patches for a while and everything falls into place. EQ the crap out of it with a low dial on a mixer and it shakes the walls still.
As far as looks goes, I think it's great, like an early Prophecy. I've dubbed it "The Green Monster" (and yes I live in boston ~_^).
It's a bit noisy still, being FM, so not really too smooth with the pitch changes if you really extend the attack and decay.
It's battery powered! Wooo! Take it out to a field and just sit there with it. Make some FM pads/bells/basses.
It's not a lead synth, but good for reaching beyond the average sounds that you hear all the time. The space bells preset on the high end could keep me busy for hours just making light and thin stuff. It's better than a rompler ^_^.
For 200 bucks, how could you go wrong? Bass is over-rated anyways ~_^.
