I've had this thing over 2 months and even though I use it every day I'm still learning about new capabilities all the time. I like most people cannot afford the triton or even the cheapest synth workstation out there, but thanks to the EM1 when I can afford a triton I'll already have a whole mess of songs I'm ready to create and plus this great gadget is coming with me whenever I leave town for any reason ULTRA PORTABLE!!! The EM1 is absolutely incredible, it does it all!!!!!!

The EM-1 sounds really good, the samples and the patterns in it sounds good and right in time.

Sounds and patterns for HipHop, House, Trance, etc.

2 synthparts and 8 drumparts make this one a great groovebox. (yamahas an200 and dx200 have only four parts (one for the special synthesis))

Really nice drums: everything for house, hip hop and psytrance.

The only bad thing is that this groovebox will probably be "out of date" in a year or two. Because you can't create your own sounds. (shure you can make it sound different with effects, but...)

This include weak variations for the different styles. For instance there is only one housepiano. So if you make house music many of your tracks will sound quite alike. I bet there arent so many instrumnents for the other styles too.

And if you combine this GB with a real synth, I think you can make some great stuff with it.

However you can always use it as a drum machine when it is "out of date".
