I directy fell for it in the music store, because of the clearity of the AI2 sounds, the flexibility in internal effects setup and, of course, the KARMA function. But I'm not the type of programming-person so I didn't spend my energy exploring out the KARMA, so one month ago I sold it for about $1500 in mint condition. Insted I bought a triton-rack to get all the nice sounds + extra expansion possibilities. The triton-rack fits me better. After all, the KARMA is a very nice machine, especially for live play but even in a studio. The dark-red designt isn't bad too...

I think that the karma feature is one of the very intresting features I've ever dealt with in my 12 years of synth music. once you understand how it works and know what you are really up too or want in your song,karma will give it to you and it will!

When the Karma came out I got one immediately. In studying Stephen Kay's experience in creating this machine, that was enough to sell me on the idea. I think that it has opened a new dimension for all musicians, especially algorithmic composers. Rhythmic harmonies are the wave of the future and the Karma is the best machine to take advantage of it. I have envisioned a board of this magnitude for years, and with it's capabilities I believe that it will change the face of modern music. To me, it is the best keyboard that has ever been made. My biggest challenge with it now is to master recording the Karma function into the sequencer with other sounds. I would like to learn more about how to synchronize the Karma function in the sequencer and how to record the different scenes of a particular combination. If anyone has done this, please contact me.

I think the karma truly amazing. The only problem is with the manuals. Who the hell writes these things anyway. I have spent more time with tech support on the phone then with my karma. Whats wrong with this picture. Lets get with the program korg and make a manual I can understand not a rocket scientist.

I purchased my karma about a week ago after some deliberation. I had the chance to review some of its capabilities on a demo tape supplied by my local music store. It has an expansion board and moss.
from the outset, I was imressed with the richness of the sounds. This is my first korg since the dw8000, and I was in love with that board. given all of this, i guess i was predisposed to a favorable impression.
i like video manuals. they make life much easior for those of us (mortals) who don't write the manuals ourselves. I would not have bought the karma knowing that there was not a video manual available. this would have been a mistake, because after a week of using this machine everyday, its potential far exceeds and effort I will have to put forth towards learning.
meanwhile... i live for a release of a video manual
