When I started using karma I felt its strength was theme music, and film scores etc...I have now discovered in recent months how awsome this karma is. Four years later I am pushing my music and Karma is at the helm I have Funk and Disco tracks that im proud of and im still learning and being inspired, yes I love it and right now this is the only board i use. Yes I love it enjoy but give it time and learn

Hi all Like most people, I am very pleased with the Karma, which I use as a straight synth on stage. The sounds are good enough as a stand alone unit for this purpose alone!

I have one small problem though, every so often it will sort of crash, that is it will jump to odd program or combi patches when I select a number or page up/down with arrow. the only way I can rectify this is to power down and power up on the fly/on stage. have tried reloading factory software.

Anybody got any ideas?

Please email me Thanks Keith

Great Synth...You can emulate a lots of sound, leads of anykind of music(from prog-metal to techno)...

In the first time is a little hard to understand how programming it but after some nights spent on your Karma...it will be easy.

Btw you have 5 insert effect plus 2 master effects with a lot of fx, a good sequencer, the wonderfull KARMA Variable Performance Modeler with 8 knobs to change what you want in real time(you'll dont regret your previous arpeggiators!!!!!) and a fucking great orange display!!!

I really love this Synth and i think that coupled with a Kurtzweil 2600 xs(and with a Roland jv 1080)...you'll have the best MODERN gear on the earth.

SHAME ON ME. I RATED THIS KEYBOAD SO BADLY AT FIRST THAT I DESERVE TO BE PUNISHED....LOL.(JK). OK, AFTER 1 YEAR WITH THE KEYBOAD I REALIZED THAT THIS IS A VERY POWERFUL TOOL, THAT NEEDS TIME AND PRACTICE TO LEARN IT. AFTER TWEEKING SOUNDS AND MAKING MY OWN EXPERIMENTS I CAN WARANTEE U THIS IS BETTER THAN KURZWEIL 2600 PERIOD. (exept for piano sound). BUT I'M A KEYBOARD PLAYER NOT PIANO. ANYWAYS, THE REWARD OF THIS KEYBOARD COMES AFTER SIX MONTHS OR SO, DON'T RATE IT IF U HAVE LESS THAN THIS.

CHAO.

Optimus Rob a part-time user from Midwest, USA writes:
After reading reviews and trying different synths for months, I finally decided on the Karma and have never been happier with an instrument purchase. This keyboard screams playability and experimentation. It's not for musicians looking for a traditional instrument and does not reward those players that have strong pianist backgrounds.

It's an instrument for someone wanting to sit down and play alongside performance-caliber beats and rhythms. With the Karma feature, pressing a key makes 5 different sounds as opposed to one -- affecting the bass, beat, pad, lead and rhythm. It's so much fun to play because the learning curve is incredibly enjoyable and rewarding -- making it possible to play live loops without having to scew around with loop pedals or separate sequencers.

I use this in conjunction with an Alesis Airsynth and Roland Handsonic and have a lot of fun on-stage playing live electronica. (Check out http://www.optimusrob.com for more info) The Karma makes electronic music fun again, and is not the board for intensive programmers or control freaksv--because it makes sounds you might not intend for it to initially make, that is until you become familiar with its new method of sound creation.

For the sound junkies out there, the sounds are organic, captivating and enjoyable -- whoever claims they're thin is not taking full advantage of this machine. I returned a Nord Lead 3 to buy this board because it makes me want to play it -- don't get me wrong, the Nord sounded great, but I wasm't getting $1800 worth of enjoyment out of it. I paid $1350 new for my Karma and feel certain it's money well spent.

If you like diversity and playability in an instrument, and want to relax and learn a new type of sound design, then go out and play the Karma -- bring some quality headphones to the keyboard store and jam away.

Hint: turn the Karma and adjacent Latch buttons on and test out the "Combi's" & try using the four illuminating chord trigger buttons for chorus rifts.

For those of you more concerned with knowing why your sound behaves like it does and want highest caliber "sound" ever programmed, then this is probably not the synth for you. But, if you like coming home after a tired day of work and just want to sit down and play some good beats, bass lines and melodies that don't get old after two days, check this thing out -- it's a new type of synth for a different type of musician.
