I just wanted to clear up a misconception that the Karma Does not have a sequencer. It DOES have a sequencer that is identical to the Triton's, except for the lack of the large touchscreen. The only things lacking software-wise in the Karma when compared to the triton is the triton arpeggiator (though the KARMA pretty much takes care of this by adding a comprehensive list of ARP models to its GE's) and sampling capability.
The sound set is Triton all the way. Some great, awe-inspiring timbres, and then some downright banal ones (maybe if we keep bitching about the Korg Piano sounds long enough someone will get the hint). Plus, if you don't like a patch, the editing is a cinch for familiar keyboardists!
The KARMA is a great instrument. I am inherently resistant to keyboards that do all the work for you, and though the Karma can certainly do some of that, I was pleased to find that alot of the Karma GE's are more suited to randomization and exploration. Much more than an arranger keyboard, it can add a great random, unpredictable quality to your compositions, or at the least, it can inspire you. Just think beyond arpeggiators to realistic harp glissandos, long time-based LFO's, grooves, and washes. This is the kind of innovative technology that made the Wavestation so great. The other cool thing about KARMA�you can disable it from any program or Combi at ANY time with one button.

I'm sure that the Karma is a wonderful unit if you learn to program it. As for the presets, they are over-dressed and unusable, especially some of the pads. I was impressed with the string sounds. The real-time controls are mint. And yet the overall tone of the instrument seemed brittle and very digital sounding.

I've heard some "professionals" dismiss the Karma as being some sort of toy or arranger keyboard for beginners. They are out of their minds!
The Karma ROCKS TOTALLY! It goes so far beyond what anything else can do, and the best part is that if you are already extremely skilled or talented, you can use that extra skill and talent along with KARMA to do things no beginner could do. And if you're a beginner, you can do things at a far greater level than anything you've achieved before.
Don't hesitate for a second - buy this keyboard! -sammy

Just bought a Karma. I wanted a Triton but figured for the same money-ish (actually LESS) I didn't need the touchscreen or onboard sequencer of the Triton, but would like the KARMA stuff. Very nice! The things the KARMA system can do are mindboggling. These are NOT JUST FANCY ARPEGGIATORS! Much much more in nuance and power. Try one out BUT DON'T JUST PLAY THE FIRST COMBO called "=Voice of KARMA=" because it IS a demo patch to show of the overall power, BUT THIS IS NOT JUST A "PRESS ONE KEY AND PLAY A SONG" machine! Definitely NOT an arranger. Get deeper into the presets. Turn off the dedicated KARMA button and you've got a Triton! Turn it on and it comes to life.

I just bought the Karma. It joins my keyboard rig with my Yamaha EX7, S30 and Kawai K5000s and Roland XP-50.
Last night I jammed with the Karma and I came as close to musical Nirvana as I have. It sings with my Ex7, whixh I also adore.
I have to laugh at the analog enthusiasts who curse at the sample players. I grew up with my Arp Axxe abd Jupiter 6 and analog is no big whoop. Was I glas when other types of synthesis became an option.
Get the Karma. It is awesome.
