The expanded version of this instrument remaines one of the finest sounding instruments you can but right now; it is the same sounds as an Oasys for half the price. A classic in the making.

loved this sinth, i have K2600Rs, PC-3X and Triton Studio 2.0 and can say that there is no better synth today... the sounds are perfect, the karma function superb (must to programm) and the new PCM are very beautifull too... but M3 is a workstation, to have the better of it you need to enter in programing the effects ( tons of effects) , the same for acustics (woodwinds) you must to put effects to sound realistic, im very very satisfied , i recommend for all

I think the M3 is the easiest board all around. I've played most major boards (korg, kurweil, yamaha, roland, kawai) and programmed them for over 20 years and Korg wins hands down. My only disappointment is no internal HD, lack of realistic acoustic sounds (woodwinds, brass, etc.) and increased polyphony. These days microprocessors are cheaper and we couldn't get 256 polyphony. I know other traditional synths aren't their either (with the exception of open labs Neko), but they could have been the first and now we have to wait another generation.

Nevertheless, I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!! And if I was on a desert island...give me Logic Pro 8, MacBook Pro, RME Fireface and my Korg M3 and I could conquer the World.

Don't wait if you are contemplating buying this board...it is TERRIFIC...trust me!!!!!

Did the previous (first) reviewer even own the M3? And you give it a 0? If you think it is that bad why ask about additional sounds? Are people crazy on purpose? Anyways I think the M3 is great so far. I only have used the sounds and karma and not the sequencer or sampling functions but the sounds are a cut above what came before to say the least and are on a par with anything else out there today. The karma function is great and if you can get into the programming (I can) it really rocks as a creative tool. 0 out of 5? More like 5 out of 5.
