hi all i got this machine secondhand a few months ago, and thanks to a friend stateside it sounds fantastic its now been converted via a small program and it's basically a M1 as it was released, that is its got all those original cool sounds that made the M1 famous, but to talk about this machine as an M1 would be to do the M3r a diservice get some sounds or program your own or buy some sound cards, they can be found and boy have you got a machine forget real sounds this really is'nt this machines forte, what you get is a rackmount brim full of sounds and features to rival most of whats out there even today ok its no VA synth but hey if you want one of those buy one of those. over all a fantastic synth go on buy one you wont regret it. 4 out of 5 because its not VA and has no real sounds not that i find this important but some of you people do.

Forget real sounds. They're good for 1989 but stinks at today standards. In general, is not useful as multisound source (100 programs, 100 combi, 80% crap), but there are a few sample that really rocks ! Percussive, Tine EPs, the -wondeful- rhodes (best i've heard so far including roland stuff!), a pair of strings, the infamous Perc.Organ (korg M1 Organ2), the pipe organ, pad&sfx are really GOOD. It is not a complete outboard but at the bargain price i can only mark a 5. Very nice addition.

Bill Gordy a professional user from Phoenix,AZ,usa writes:
I've had my M3r pretty much since it came out and have used it completely for live situations. I can't seem to get away from the piano patch. It's the only one I've tried that cuts thru a live band mix and sounds fat and realistic compared to a lot of other brands I've tried recently. It's getting to the point that maybe I should start buying up M3r's when I see them. I have had the button problem but you just gotta baby it.

Sandro Binetti a part-time user from Bari (ITALY) writes:
If you can find it at less than 250 USD, please buy it! The synthesys is basically simple, wavetable based, the sounds are almost too poor, to be used in a multitimbral mode. But for layered sounds, pads, percussive, velocity-switched sounds, it very very OK. Great synthetic sounds, no noise, good DSP EFX generator. You can use the 4 independent audio outs to route the signal to another effector, in order to make certain sounds richer. Great Rhodes sound.
