Microkorg sounds like a 4 voice version of Electribe that i hate so much.I love the music of the 80's with warm organic sounds for example from Korg Monopoly,DS8, DW8000 and... but since 1988 Korg is selling horrible crap pieces of junk like M1, Trinton, Radias,Oasis, Microkorg. It's a shame.

I too had one of these previously and just came back to it.
An extremely powerful synth and very easy to create sounds on which is one of it's strongest points.I won't review the features as others have already done that.If you are looking for a bass or lead synth and space or budget are limited then the mkorg could be the synth for you.
Beyond that there is a lot of potential for sound design and korg were good enough to add a librarian and an editor so you can quickly build up libraries of sounds.
This synth is a lot of fun and i missed the little monster.Overall i chose the mkorg for it's sound, everything else is icing on the cake.
If other people think it sounds weak run it through some fx,isn't that what people do with these synths anyway?Isn't that what they did with analogues to get that sound that everyones trying to emulate these days?If your recording into a daw there are no limits to what this synth can do ;)

people who slate this synth obviousely have no talent and imgaination. It is a machine that makes sounds and as such can be used in the creation of music. It makes good sounds that are highylu useable, those who say its crap should give up music and take up stamp collecting. Great synth, cheap as chips and sounds cool.

This weak trash is a horrible nightmare for every professional musican but some people in europe and usa buy it because of the vocoder, the price and the look. Don't expect good music with this trash.

This synth is hot! Owned one, sold it, missed it, got another 5 years later. The matrix had me confused at first but I did my homework and figured it out. Also downloaded the microkorg editor a BAAAM! Opened up a brand new world for me. I wont be selling this one! Long live the Microkorg! Only thing I dont like are the fisher-price keys.
