Considering that my prior synth experience is the venerable SK-1 (as well as some soft-synth action), this was a leap like no other. There's a definite joy that I get from programming this thing. Granted, I'd probably prefer a big modular synth (I'm that kind of guy), but learning synthesis with the MK forces me to use the visualization part of my brain.

Wow. I have never used a synth before. This is my first. I thought everything would be really complicated and hard to understand, but to my surprise this thing has been quite simple! Of course because I'm a beginner my opinion isn't that helpful, but if you are a beginner and are looking for an affordable synth the microkorg is definetly it. What more could you want for $400, (In my case $375,- never pay full price). I'm blown away and probably won't get much sleep for the next few days... amazing.

I bought the Microkorg when it first came out back in October. I sold my Novation K-Station in favor of the Microkorg. I'm very happy with it. The sounds that this unit can produce is incredible. The vocoder is the best. This unit can operate on batteries, which is nice. The only gripe I have is the size of the keys. I wish the keys could have been bigger, but I guess this is part of keeping the unit so compact. I can see the Microkorg becoming a classic in the future.

I bought my microkorg a few days ago and from the beginning I love the machine. It's a mini MS 2000 with very good vocoder. The sounds are very useable. It' a small and light device only 2.2kg so it's ideal for touring.

This thing is fun to play with, especially since it is so portable. Yes, it is a pain to edit sounds with only five control knobs. If you are hooked up to a PC via MIDI, however, there is a free program available that allows you to easily edit and save patches without all the knob switching. Nice sound, the presets are very good and quite tweakable. The vocoder rocks.
