Hi, for this price you can't buy anything better-The vocoder is very analoguish..and not virtual fake vocoder..the osc and filters emultations are good enough for beat the nordlead who cost twice price.. I had several analogue machines and also the original korg ms10 and ms20 - The only difference i can hear is that old ones are bit more dirty..but for these times this cannot be a can plug ms2000 in valve preamp..and hear a big difference..or pump it in other modes.. 4 voices a problem? Why? Consider this machine implement a complex sound generation like a mini modular..consider the the analogue step sequencer... If casio for 99$ is more dirty and analogue also dx7 is dirty and analoguish (because of old cheap converters) ..Korg ms2000 can do all you can do with all korg ms series in one package (korg ms10,ms20,vc10,ms50) Korg have the best analogue models i ever heard since Prophecy(Who can be considered the minimoog of future)..

this synth scores high in my book. its about time, a virtual analog synth that actually sounds like a analog synth. ive only had mine for about 2 weeks and have allready made some really nice patches. so the rose wood sides are fake who cares. as long as it sounds good and produces useable results.

Thanks for the yuks, Nic.

The fact is, this synth (and many of its contemporaries) brings the fun back into sound creation. There's nothign as tiresome and frustrating as page/increment when sculpting that tone you crave. The MS2000 puts the knobs right where you want 'em, on top. Plus, it has so many cool features unique to it, that it automatically carved its own niche in the market. I personally would have never thought to put the DWGS wavetable in oscillator 1, but I'm glad Korg did. Like the JP-8000, the effects knobs allow for severe warpage of the sound immediately. Yum.

Most importantly, the MS2000 is *distinctive*. That's why I got one.

Virtual Analog has its limitations fer sure But the MS2000 is a great synth even though it has fake wood side pieces.I was instantly hooked and I even purchased it at guitar center because I had to have it right away. I think its better than the roland jp8000! exellent arpeggiator, built in distortion that kicks ass. I recommend learning the machine and over writing MOST of the presets for they are a but thin sounding. but with some minor effort exellent sounds can be made with this synth. I'm not going to get rid of it anytime soon.

I have to say that i use my MS2000rack to make noises, metallic distortions ,mad arpeggios... the thing i wanted when i bought it it was to do terrificant noises the ms2000 do this, but now my curiosity is about the other v-analogue on the scene, for example the virus, the nova, the microwave... and this curiosity come from the fact that i own an Electribe EA-1: the MS2000 dsp way of modelling sound is the same of the electribe, plus the oscillators and lfo's 'real' analogue, so the timbrical results can be really more powerfull ,and cover big different styles. but the root is the dsp machine developed on the electribe... so, the sounds that the others v-analogue synth that i mentioned before could be REALLY different from the va MS2000...? anyway, i put 5/5 because of the motion sequence, virtual patch, THE PADS ON THE RACK VERSION, the easy-to-use way to save the works with the function "Write" (the best thing ever, also on the electribes,...thanx Korg!!!)
