The ms2000 is another really cool product that I am glad I bought.....even tho I did not actually need another keyboard. I probably should have gotten the ms2000r rack version...that would have been much smarter for me since I already own 7 keyboards (yikes!). For the guy below (richie) who says stay away from the ms2000r cuz it doesnt have keys....that only would apply if you were using it stand-alone without a midi controller. If you already have keys, like me, then go for the MS2000R Rack version. You will save about $200 and have a much smaller device that will de everything that the keyboard version does except it wont take up so much damn space. Now i gotta sell one of my beloved keyboards....soon to make some room. Maybe I will sell this puppy and buy the MS2000R like I should have in 1st place. Excellent machine in every way!! I love it and enjoy the heck out of playing it. Strong buy!! You cannot go wrong!! Very unique sounding and amazing in an experimental way.

MS2000, the weaknesses: a little cheap feeling on the keyboard, arpeggiator never stays in sync with midi clock, only 4 voice poly. And the good things: Very good emulation of old analog synths, like mono/poly, and looks like it too. The filter doesn't have much of that "zippering"-noise and is one of the best filters found in va-machines nowadays (of course cannot beat the virus or jp80x0, but still very good). Onboard delay and chorus are ok. If i don't get the effects I need from a synth I use my TC M-One to do the thing, like reverbs, which are one of the best. Withs ms2k one can make new sounds very fast, because all the most important controls are located on the front panel with knobs. Distortion is a kind of funny cause the level cannot be adjusted but it really can make the bass/lead/effect scream, if other tricks don't help. MS2k is not meant to be the only synth in your setup, but it is a great peace of a kit in a studio combined with a few other synths. You can make very good bass/lead-sounds with it and it suits very good into trance, electronic, ambient etc. The filter is very good for big trance-saw-leads too. I once made a big lead with microQ and ms2k so that I used the ms2k filter for the sound. It sounded huge! You can allso make some good pads with this. But because the polyphony is only 4, I mainly use this for bass/lead/noises, which it does great. And not only the sound, but the look!

This has got to be one of my favourite synths. It has everything you could need, great flashing lights (To do with the arpegio?), large LCD, knobs, buttons....and it sounds pretty good too.

The vocodor is exceptional at producing those classic robotic voices from the 80's. Personally I use it to try and emulate the sounds of throat cancer patients....and to great effect (Anti Smoking Campaing will be shown on UK -ITV Feb' 03).

I love this synth.

Lined up against my other real analog monosynths. I was able to replicate (at least somewhate convincingly) the sounds of my Rogue Moog, OB-1, and MS-10. I think it does just fine. You just have to tweek it a little more to get the phat sound. In my opinion some of the presets of great while others are cheese, it all depends on what you are using it for. As stated before, It is not what you have it is what you do with it.
