Then I played it next to a Nord Lead 2, a Supernova 2, and a Jp8080.
To me the MS 2000 had the best sound of the four. Yes, the knobs are cheap and the poly is low, but to me it just had better sounds, period.

I got my MS2000 at a bargain price of £350, so i am well chuffed. I think it sounds fantastic, is easy to use, and looks good. OK, it may not be as deep in its architecture as my MicroQ, but who cares, this is a top class bit of kit. Well done Korg.

well, i wont go as far as the dude named analogue, but, i will say that if you spend a grand on a synth, you shouldn't feel as if you were a little girl mauled by a lurking pedifile. i was really looking forward to getting an ms2000 for a while. i finally got one and was initially not terribly impressed. the feel of the thing has a definate toy-like quality about it. to me the four voice thing is really limiting. and the lack of multi timbral play is a major downfall. sure, i got into the bowels of the beast and tinkered around and tweaked it. fun, but it just seemed to me as if something was missing. any how, if you love this synth, fine. but i just traded mine and some other gear i didn't use much for a nord lead 3. if your looking at buying one of these va's, please, try the nl3 before you buy an ms2000. it's twice the price, but, in my opinion, well worth every damned penny. good luck fellow synthmongers!
