I'm astounded by the MS-50... it's how analog should be. The oscillator seems warmer (although it could be just my MS-50 in comparison to my MS-20 and MS-10) than the others in the MS series. It's a little misleading to describe this as a one oscillator synth... the triangle, saw, and pulse waves can ALL be output from the ONE oscillator and routed elsewhere on the synth. (patching them into the Adding Amp and mixing them is fun) It's like having a limited 3 oscillator synth. I have routed oscillator waveforms out of the MS-50 and into the MS-20 where I run them through the filters, etc. It's really like having a 5 oscillator synth when you use an MS-50 and MS-20 together. And despite the fact that I run out of patchcords VERY quickly (and I have many!), I still feel like I'm only scratching the surface of what this thing is capable of. Don't think about it, buy it... if you have any interest in analog or modular synthesizers. It can be used with most any synth with CV out and Trigger/Gate out.

I have recently managed to buy this machine after searching for some time. I love it. Together with my two MS20's and SQ10's it makes a fairly spectacular sound. Even on its own it can kick. It has many possibilities. Maybe not so obvious initially but with some experimenting the most gorgeous and unusual sounds can be coaxed from it. Very worth tracking down.

I hadn't used it for a while and I recently came back to it. Some of the modules are really pretty interesting and can modify the sounds in a way that is hard to do any where else.

I think with any modular it would be wise to get hold of a bunch of colour coded leads to make it easier to figure out what goes to where.

This one is my favorite. It's great to use with my Ms-10 and Ms-20.

This little machine is quite wonderful, it goes very good with my other MS's,

I usually use the MS-50 for percussion sounds combined with two MS-20's... I've got the original manual!
