oh come on guy... blah blah blah...

the thing has a joystick. (and not just any old joystick, but a cool retro skinny one like the ones used with Atari and C64)

how can anything bad be said about it?

THE THING HAS A JOYSTICK!

I've just recently brought one of these just becuase it was dirt cheap and funny looking. It's intially super-easy to use - after years playing Roland Junos and SH101s etc, I actually quite like the restriction of not being able to turn knobs...But I'm having a bit of trouble saving my own sounds, which is a pain in the arse as the presets suck and my own settings are better! If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it. also, I've heard that you can weight the keys, and have found instructions - but it looks a bit dodgy. has anyone done this, and is it worth it?? Otherwise I'm really enjoying this simple beast, especially the trippy arpeggiator. One annoyig sound that keeps coming up is a kind of 'pop' noise that happens on hitting a key; iy seems to transcend all the settings so maybe something's wrong. But overall, good for prog death noises and also some soft chiming things.

I Love this synth, It was the second synth I brought, and I paid only about $300(NZ) for it.

I love Autechre and Boards Of Canada style electronic music, and this synth does the job, I wish I brought this first and didnt buy that shitty midi digital synth, so much warmth in the poly 61.

regarding the midi, the Poly 61M has midi, the regular Poly 61 doesn't (unless it was retrofitted or something)

Keyboard troubles...Dirty sounding...Good arpeggiator...Easy to program due to limited features...Nice 4-way bender...Monophonic mode sounds pretty good...Beginner synth.
