When I bought my Poly 800MK2 I really didn't know what I had. I got it at a pawn shop for $135 in Missouri. Once I satrted playing around with it I soon realized I had a great analog bass production machine. The bass sounds are warm and phat. I also reproduced some sounds from some early 80's hits totally by accident. Thats when I realized the nature of the board I had. I enjoy making new sounds and this thing allows me to do that and more. Well worth what I paid for it.

i have had my poly 800 mkII for a couple of weeks now and i really like it. i bought it for one hundred and forty after my juno 106 was stolen and i had a need to get something else as soon as possible. although, the sounds are nothing compared to the juno, you can get some really decent sounds. this is a keyboard that could be a great deal at half the price of the juno 106, at the quarter of the price of a juno 106. i am pretty satisfied with it overall, but my biggest problem is that you can only use one midi channel at a time..does anyone know if something can be done about this.

Hey.... I got my Polly for 50 bucks at swap meet here. After I figured out how to run it (no manual, of course), I spent many hours just tweaking the sounds. What's everyone complaining about? This little bugger is GREAT! Lots of serious classic synth type sounds on tap with great bass and plenty of sparkle. Okay, so the interface could be a little more "in-yer-face", but hell, this board has a lot of sounds inside it. It's not THAT HARD to program. Running this baby through a stereo rig is the only way to go. I really like the delay board with its echo and flanging warble, too. Hey, I couldn't have had this much fun from 50 bucks worth of cheap beer...Hasta Luego P.S.-DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE A MANUAL AND/OR A PRESET SHEET/TAPE TO SHARE?

When I got a hold of this synth about 10 months ago, I thought it wasn't going to be very useful. Well, I'm glad I didn't get rid of it. I like to generate very unusual sounds, and this thing does it. The only drawback is that everything is controlled by buttons. For the price, you couldn't get a better deal.

It's pretty good. Doesn't have everything, but it's cheap. great bass sounds, good pads and stuff, good bells and chimes, decent effects. good for about everything except realistic sounds. But the coolest thing by far to do is modify it. right now i've got knobs for filter cutoff and resonance, noise level, and delay time. now the filters will self-oscillate, and the delay knob can make some really really sick sounds.
You would probably be better off with a DW-8000 but Poly 800s are nice and cheap. I got mine for $135.
