I bought this synth over a year ago. It was worth the $500 dollars I paid for it and more. It may not have many extra features on it, but the sounds are awesome. I love the fact that it's compact and light. This is important for somebody like me who uses it for gigs. I sold my Korg N364 because it was heavy. I don't think I will ever sell my X5D. It has so many uses. I can use it as a midi controller with my computer. I use it live with my band. It is really an underrated synth. I currently use it with my Nord Lead 2. I would recommend this synth to somebody on a budget looking for a quality synthesizer.

I really like this little synth. I bought the x5d to use as a midi controller, but I have since found many uses for its sounds in my recordings. It has great organ, string and pad sounds that can be tweaked to near breath-taking perfection. Even though the piano sounds are crap, I still recommend the x5d as a beginner synth or as an addition to any multi-keyboard rig.

To make good music it always good to have different musical colors to pick from: the X5D added those space-layered sounds, strings and pianos to my virtual analog and sampler setup of AN1x, ES1, ER1, ESX25 and EVP88....

The Korg X5D was the ideal complement for my studio (besides, I bought it like new at Rogue Music for under $500.....)

Thanks Korg ^_^.

Hi. The X5D is a great synth. I am really impressed by the sounds (really nice luscious pads, excellent piano and drum sounds, etc) and also the fact that it is so lightweight (5 kgs or so. great for travelling or gigging!). I have one for sale at 400 US dollars. Please contact me at pingomatic@hotmail.com if you would like to buy it. I live in Singapore.
