I don't agree with those who say that the Z1's acoustic emulations are not good. You have to use the Z1's controllers properly and think as though you're playing the real instrument!

The Z1 has it's own special sound just like the other VA synthes have (Roland JP's, Novations, Viruses, Yamaha AN1X etc). But none on this list can come close to copying the acoustic models in the Z1! The Z1 can do a good copy of most of the older synthesizers in my opinion. It will become a future classic one day and all you lucky Z1 owners will be laughing all the way to the bank when you'll be able to sell your 'old' board at a way inflated price because it has become the coolest thing around!

Well... I just bought the z1 - my first REAL synth that I can call my own...

It's incredible and I haven't dived in yet!

I bought mine BRAND NEW for £800 as it has been discontinued. And to think that 2 and a half years ago it was going for £1700!!! Unbelievable!

WHY THE HELL have Korg discontinued it???

Well - they have unfortunately so if you don't have one grab one while you can because I bought one of the last 5 to come into the UK... if you don't move now there won't be anymore here ever. Unless you want a second hand model which might be scratched and have no guarantee and cause you more grief than it's worth!!!

GET ONE NOW!!! BTW - the filters rip on this thing... mad for a digital synth! And the physical modelling provides the sweetest most expressive sounds - they may sound false to start with but with a little practise on the XY pad with the trumpet patch - you could put out records which are 'lost' Miles Davis recordings!!! Not that I suggest you do that...
