I recently got one of these on EBay for about 200 bucks, and love it. great synth sounds and basses, plus weird noises. the horns are crap, but what do u expect from a FM? anyways, if anyone has a manual or could tell me how to transfer sounds from my computer to keyboard and vice versa, please do. i'm new to MIDI, and can hook keyboards up together fine, but can't get my computer to work with them. and if you can't send me a whole manual, can u at least tell me what some of the parameters do? i've been programming a lot of sounds, and some of the params seem to do. such as DTN in the menu with the oscillators... and can u rig the sliders to move the oscillators? i luv fooling with them, but when u go to that mode your sliders do nada.. and i can't figure out a way to sync the oscillators. maybe i'm expectin to much from this thing.... but if anyone can help, please do... thanks a lot

I have used the Ds-8 as a controller for the past 6 years. It cant come close to the sampled sounds on the market today but the effects and strange stuff is great. I also have one of the only (it seems) true data card left to download sounds from. I also have over 200 created sounds that can be loaded from the computer into the memory bank(Mac Format). For something different, its a nice keyboard that makes your music sound a bit different from everyone elses. For the right price i might consider selling it. It is en excellent shape but i might have to search for the manual if interested email me.

I have owned the DS8 for many years, it is an all around decent synth (Considering when it was released). There are good sounds, good combinations, the effects are OK but could be improved. I use it now as my MIDI controller for my KORG M3R and it works great. Never any problems with KORG products and they are so easy to use and program.

Well I found on of these at a pawn shop for $150 and it is in great shape,
It's 8 part poly and 8 part multitimbral 61 keys w/velocity and aftertouch
(which you really have to push on!)The 100 factory sounds are wanky but if you
tweak at them you can get good fat bass sounds, decent organs, lots of
weird/cool/FX stuff. Edditing is quite easy and comprehensive which is a strong
point, you also get a noisy basic effects unit, you have layer, multi, combo if
you can get one cheap $250 or so I think it would be worth while even as a
controller and then some. Overall I'd say this keyboard is highly underated
