I bought my Prophecy when they first came out...much fatter than the Minimoog...it has a digital meets analog quality yet it has that balls to the wall sound that is truly its own...the effects enhance some of this but the meat is there...plus it doesn't go out of tune when your halfway into a song...its fat and beefy and definately gets attention...work the controllers on the left and see Jesus on a regular basis...

all you people that are complaining about it being monophonic...i hooked it up to cubaseVST and wow i can get 99 different notes at once. you people need to get more into the modern computer based construction of music...I LOVE THIS SYNTH. I totaly agree with the nice man who said "i wouldn't trade my prophecy for a 303 and a Moog" Right on yo!

i wanna give this a 10 - 5 but oh well

I tried out the Z1 and trinity V3 several times at the store, but to me they just don't sound that great. I much prefer the sound of the S bank of my trinity plus. check out the AN1X by Yamaha. you can still find them new in stores if you look.

Are there any things the Prophecy can and the Z1 can't? I have a Prophecy and I love it! Now I'm looking for a polyphonic VA synth and like the idea of a poyphonic Prophecy. It would be heaven...Please let me know

You can assign anything almost anywhere on the proph including cutoff or FC to the controller or the pitch bend controllers, mind you you'll have to flip through countless menu's but it can be done.

Your gripe about the patch storage is quite valid though -- I use sysex dumps to get around that.

Best mono synth made by the Japanese, well ever..
