I've had the chance to work a Trinity that a friend of mine owned for a few months and owned a Triton myself for a month (*shudder* over owning a Triton). After playing on the Trinity I realized how much the Trinity exceeded the Triton in quality, especially for price.

The Triton costs far too much for a difficult to manage synthesizer (and the sequencer... *shudder*). The Trinity, on the other hand, is extremely user-friendly and powerful. The effects are just as powerful, if not moreso, than the Triton's and absolutely stunning. And, as other users have commented in this forum, many of the timbres are so realistic and high-quality that it's difficult to differentiate between the synth and the real thing.

Seriously a machine worth the money if you can find it for less than list price. I've heard it in action on house, trance (hard and progressive), goa, and breakbeats, and it fits the mold for each of them. If you, on the other hand, are looking to use it as an instrument towards experimental, ambient, or jungle, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Dave Wesner a hobbyist user from USA writes:
I've had my Trinity since July ('97) and it will be YEARS before I find everything this machine can do. I am blown away daily by the sound quality, ease-of-use, etc. My only gripe is this: I purchased the hard disk recorder option, and have never seen a high-end recording system as limited as this one. The sound quality is amazing, but there is no effects loop, and most of the Trinity's onboard (and incredible) effects are inaccessible to the hard drive. Buy a Trinity, but for recording get that new 64-track Roland thing.
