The K2500R is definitely one the finest synths and samplers out their. The tonal characteristics are well suited to Classical, Jazz, and Ambient styles of music. I feel the instrument tends to have a MOODY sound sound to it, with lots of emotion and expression. It definitely plays a huge part in my studio along with my Supernova. Togeather they are AMAZING. Very little tonal palette which cannot be readily covered. The finishing touch would be the addition of a Korg Trinity TR Rack to add the sparkle and sheen to the glassy highs and bright mids. I K2500 is very well suited to filmscore music as well. I used it on my last CD and am using it alot on my new CD project.

The K2500s are, without a doubt, the BEST OF THE BEST. Of course they are expensive but a diamond usually costs more than a rock. Perhaps those whos only complaint is price will, one day, too, be able to make a purchase. Y'all can do what everyone else has done, work and save (or at least work to establish a credit rating). It's taken me 46 years, mainly because I had to wait until the kid was grown, but it's been worth the wait. The only draw-back to owning a K25 is that I am no longer able walk thru the keyboard department and drool. Has owning a K25 has shattered my dreams? No, it has fulfilled them.

In my opinion these machines are hgighly over rated, ESPECIALLY when you consider the price of computer technology (which these boards are). You can get hooked up way better if you take another route for your sound! Besides these are ridiculousley over priced especially with all of the other options today. It is long overdue for a major price reduction (all of the k series are !) Remember that these are made in Korea and their currency has gone to total doo doo. So keep looking the pricxes of this and the 2500 must fall dramatically!
