The best synth that I have ever used. Clear, logical operating system that reads values in their actual measurements (dB, Hz, ...) not 0 - 100 like almost every other piece of gear I own. That alone is worth the price of admission. The power that it gives to LOGICAL programming is amazing. The disk operating system is also wonderful. Spring for the piano and orchestral daughterboard. They are great. I have not heard a better piano on a synth or sampler. One prob - and everyone knows it - the effects are way too noisy for professional recording use. However, most of the patches are based not on their effects but on their programming - so you shouldn't really have a problem integrating an other effects processor.

I think its a very cool piece of equipment - very expressive sounds too bad it costs to much, and its o/s is so dense.

My K2500 has the best sound quality and detail of all the Keyboards I auditioned. It is easy to use and versatile. The weighted keys are worth the cost because they are very responsive and feel "real". The pianos in the piano ROM option are especially good. I bought my K2500X from Caruso Music in New London CT. They were most knowledgable and very helpful when my first Kurzweil died within two weeks after delivery. Larry Caruso, the owner of Caruso Music and Brad Lyons, my sales rep. worked hard with Chris Heap of Kurzweil to find me a new K2500X with all my options. I was up and running again within two weeks! Many thanks to Larry Caruso, Brad Lyons, and Chris Heap of Kurzweil for getting me out of a jam.
