This board just sounds stunning. I have been playing professionaly for over 20 years, and this board (plus my K2600XS in the studio) simply sounds the best. Be it in a R&R bar band, scoring musicals, recording, there is nothing it cannot do. The best thing about it is its useability. You know how great a sound is, until you try to use it in a live situation. K tends to have more useable sounds. The only negative I have is that it is a bear to edit and program. The machine is so versatile, that sometimes doing simple things takes a while. However, in the end the results are great. I have used the Korgs and Rolands, and they are fantastic as well. The K just seems to cut through a mix and simply sound better in the end product.

I've had my k2661 for 1 year now and I haven't even begun to tear into its depths. It's light but solidly built and easy to drag to gigs. The interface is not easy to use for a newbie and one complaint is that the screen is a bit small. Its mostly stable and the only problems I've ever had with it could be corrected with a hard reboot. Now for the sound. Overall the presets are pretty good nothing super edgy but still a lot to work with. Without knowing much I was able to take a synth string sound and make a fairly decent reproduction of a CS-80 String. NICE. And it isn't even trying to be a VA. Overall I give this board 4.7 I reserve 5's for the elka synthex, cs-80, Jupiter and the Moog but then they are some of the best ever made.
