I purchased my PC88mx for $1950 almost two years ago. I am a concert pianist and songwriter with a heavy hand at times. I'm glad I have not had trouble with the action yet. I am, however, experiencing a strange crackling noise on the left side in mono or stereo intermittently. A note from Kurzweil says it may be the soundboard? That can't be good. We have ruled out other things because it also distorts over the headphones. In my recent concerts I have not had a problem, but I often have the problem at home. (Maybe that should be telling me something.) If anybody knows of something I might be causing let me know. Otherwise, it's off to the shop. This keyboard stands up to them all. After hearing my sounds in concert and on my tracks everybody wants one no matter what they might have. My only complaint is being unable to get prompt repair. This keyboard is so good I have to have it. I can't use something else even if it had a perfect reliability record. I do not have a back up keyboard, yet. It looks like I might have to do something about that. Any tips on speeding up repair downtime, leasing a back up, or this crackling noise?
