I'm a heavy-handed jazz pianist who plays every weekend or so for 3 hours and have had two keybed problems that I've learned to fix, quite effectively.
In both cases, you have to take out the keybed and control panel screws from the bottom and back so the keybed can slide around a little. I'll leave it to you to figure out which screws to remove.
You also have to remove the key from the keybed to fix the action under it. Remove the spring from the non-business end of the key, then slip a small screwdriver in the slot at the same end to release the retaining tab.
Problem 1: Broken keyweights. Simply rough-up the end of the lead weight in the broken-off piece a little and epoxy it back on. Do this without removing the other end from the keybed to save a lot of grief!
Problem 2: Knocking sounds under white keys when played hard. This is caused by a tiny piece of plastic in the keybed breaking off - you'll find them rattling around. The knocking is caused by the weight hitting the underside of the key. Solution: A small strip of self-adhesive rubber door insulation stuck to the underside of each white note in the right place. I bought a roll from Home Depot and did the whole keybed one afternoon about a year ago, and no problems since.

Excellent sounds and control features, but has been in the repair shop SIX times so far... it's on its third keyboard assembly now. Completely unreliable for live work... it's totally shut down on me twice in performance. Embarassing. If you get one, keep it in the studio and DON'T move it. Not roadworthy even when coddled and handled with kid gloves.

Pc88 is an awesome keyboard-lots of ways to make it do a lot of things in my setup
I use it as a stand-alone and also to trigger other modules in live performance. my only hang-up is it is too darn heavy!!!!

Excellent feel and wonderful piano sounds - the best digital piano I've heard yet. Makes a great master controller for a MIDI setup - lots of sliders and inputs for switch and CV pedals. The only real downside is that the sounds are not editable.

I can't understand the reviews on here that say this thing has a crappy keybed. For those of you who like Alesis and Korg, their keyboards are all manufactured by the same company. Fatar makes all the keybeds. So there. Furthermore, the sounds are great, and it is the lightest 88-key piano action controller on the market. Also, I don't know how much you guys are paying for it, but you can find the PC88mx at 8th Street Music for $1775. That's right, the MX version. I did not screw up here, 'case mine is already on its way. By the way, get the MX version. It has all the synth leads and stuff. Kurzweil also makes the best synthesized organ sound ever. Enjoy!
