I have this keyboard and I think it's a great controller, with the MX expantion
you've got a nice set of sounds to start off with if you're a beginner.
I want to find other people who have created things with their Kurzweil PC88mx.
I want to trade MIDI files, see what other people are doing, and show them what
I've done. I'm only 17 so I'm not professional yet, but I plan to be.

Great keyboard for the most part. I use it in a live church setting. I have the expansion board, which helped for variety, but I have not been impressed with the piano sounds at all. I'd rather go play the real grand. I think Roland has the PC88 beat for piano sounds. I also like the hammer action of Roland better that Kurzweil. But Kurzweil is more user friendly, especially in a live setting. When you go to a different sound or setup, the PC88 makes a smooth change, whereas, the Roland RD500 I tried out makes an abrupt change to the new sound.

Man, I'm getting sick and tired of having the key weights fall off of my PC88! The cheap Fatar action used by Kurzweil in this instrument is a piece of CRAP! (Perhaps that's what PC88 refers to.) NO MORE REPAIRS, PEOPLE! It's time for The Kurzweil folks to admit that we have a HUGE problem here. They need to replace the ENTIRE KEY MECHANISM at their/Fatar's expense. I don't know about you, but I ain't a rich guy and cant afford continual repairs as weights continue to fall off! Let's organize and get this settled. Call me at 519 433-4839 or write: Eugene Burda

Nice instrument. I really like the keys, even for practicing classical music. Excellent motherboard features. It just annoys me that the pianosounds hasn't enough sustain. Good work in general.

Nice sounds. Crap keyboard action falls apart. Ineffectual "customer service" leaves much to be desired. Kurzweil would rather try (with little effect) to silence the many disgruntled PC88 owners whose defective keyboard actions are self-destructing than handle the problem like real men would do. Buy a Roland RD600 or the new Korg SG Pro X instead. They sound great, and are built to last like all great Roland and Korg products.
