My 1000px has been in storage for the past decade because it gives an unwanted "chirp" in the audio output every couple of seconds. I've had the power supply resoldered which was apparently a very common issue with these, but that didn't fix the issue. have given it a good clean too with no effect. Can't bring myself to sell or trash it because I love a few of the sounds in here, especially the ambient piano. If you've successfully fixed a similar issue, please post a detailed response. Thanks

Hi gang once again, I've now got four of these guys: two upgraded PXs and a couple of Pro 1s. I've now had 100s since 1988 and they're the backbone of my studio (11 of them!). They still delight me with the class and quality of the sounds-I love them to bits! Just so you know: all the upgrades are available from www.alzerom.com and the Yahoo 1000/1200 users group is up to 350 members with librarians, editors, sound banks and hints and tips to keep your 1000s humming.
And various members of the group can tell you how to repair your backlights!

Purchased one of these cool Kurzweil synth modules on EBay last month. I gotta tell ya'll, I'm really impressed with the sounds in this unit. Even being an older module (produced in the mid 1990s, I believe) it's samples are quite nice, and they blend extremely well in the mix. If you get a chance to pick one up, I'd say definately go for it. You'll be glad ya' did.

Love the sounds out of this unit. If you get one like I did where the sounds are getting choppy. sounds like it is popping. you need to replace the DAC's (digital analog converters). Cost me about $20 from digikey.com. Awesome module.

I would like to know where I can get a power supply for a Kurzweil 1200 Pro1 and how much it would cost. Local electronics suppliers and customer service techs have not been forthcoming in offering help. I would service it myself. I also have a 1000 PX which has the same power supply. Thank you.
