piano sounds are not very good,

I tried this module a while ago and the piano's just sounded horrible. The piano's sound really plastic and artificial. Very thin. Piece of junk.

Most piano samples in tbe synth world really stink to high heaven. I believe that is the reason many people give the Kurzweil micropiano good marks - relatively speaking it's not too bad, but there are much better samples out there (IMHO). The piano patch from old Roland sound modules (avoid the "sound canvas" though) which you can pick up on ebay pretty cheap sound better than this.
The other sounds are okay. One of the string pads is incredibly good. That's the only reason I've kept it for the last 8 years.

I've had this unit now for 2 years and it is still a part of my recording times. I use the module a lot at small gigs. The pianos, e.pianos, and strings are great. The organs are not too bad either. Anyone knows that Kurzweil is definitely known for its wonderful piano sounds.

I use the MicroPiano with a choir instrument accompainment band, along with a very light Evolution MIDI keyboard. I can obtain very nice acoustic piano sounds as well as a lovely Rhodes electric piano sound (program 14). The other electric piano sounds are not very good, specially the high notes. I just miss a Wurlitzer electric piano sound. The Rhodes number 14 track is very good, anyway.
