the k150 has got to be the most maddening piece of equipment I've ever owned. The most incredib;e sounds can come out of it, if you put the time into it. The coolest feature for me, is that each of the 240 osc has its own 256 stage, loopable envelope. I use the apple II editor, so I have a graphical representation of all the env's, which is a super cool feature. Also, the pitch of each osc can be controlled almost infinitely, so you don't have to have exact harmonics. This can produce very odd sounds, that almost sound like fm. Again, the individual env's make all the difference. I found it great for strange, evolving sounds much different than anything else. I use it mostly as a sort of "super oscilator" for my nord modular, adding filters, compression, overdrive, and other goodies to the sound. As cool as it is though, beware: it gobbles a lot of power! So much so that it blew out the power in my house. It's also big and heavy, and my studio just does not have room for an apple IIe. If you've got the time, and you've got the space, I would heartily recommend it to anyone who's serious about sound design. There's simply nothing else like it!
