The Linn is a cool machine screw whoever doesn't think so. I bought one about six months ago and I love it. Now for the kid who claims to be Prince if u truly did use the Drumtracks on When Doves Cry how did u get the Linn side stick in the Drumtracks I've got both machines and the sidestick in the Drumtracks sounds nothing like the Linn. But then again you could have hooked them up together or switched chips. The handclaps are truly the Drumtracks Prince. Yeah right!!!

this mashine is great!!! Not analog, doesn´t sound like but still fucking awesom!! the bass is great the snare fits in every mix. tunig and mixer(volume) for each instrument is an also an graet option. not better than a 808 but different, clearer and not as agressive and crispy as a 909. something between.wet but clear. perfect.

owning the 2nd version of this fine machine(the 1st one is almost inpossible to find due to only 500 made to 5000 of the 2nd)This machine as said will hold its own even to todays standards very punchy bass and snare even the rest of the sounds sound great I can see why so many famouse artists back in the 80's used this machine over any achine of its time. The LinnDrum feels and functions nice to old late 70's early 80's Roland gear.classic already but sure to be a true classic after all this new drum machines has its turn and only the true survive. For Real!!!

The bass drum is pretty good. Sort of "wet" sounding. Works well with breaks for that phat sound. Also worth checking out the Oberheim for sound of that era too
