Daniel Hansson a hobbyist user from Sweden writes:
Good things are: Pianosound, Cool effects, Its look, Good keyboard,

Quite usable waveforms

Less good things: My multisounds are bugging all the time - the M1 keeps changing

my settings. The sequencer.

FED a hobbyist user from Orlando, FL (USA) writes:
I've owned my M1 for about 7 years and found it to be extremely expressive. Not being an accomplished keys player I learned to use the sequencer and pattern recorder to make up for my lack of training and am very pleased with my results. I only wish you could effect tracks individually, although you can do that panpot thing to get 2 different f\x on separate tracks.

Recently, I had Cakewalk 6.0 installed on my PC and can not get it to play back on any channel other than 1. I'm hoping this is an easy fix or an oversight on my part since I am fairly new to MIDI but any input is welcome.

I noticed another person writing in has the same problem (drop me a line).

The only other problems I've had are the occasional button not acctivating on the first push (or 2nd or 3rd sometimes) and I had to replace the internal battery but even that was very recent and I imagine this happens over time with heavy use. And yes, the memory fills up real fast.

Overall, I love this keyboard. It has taken me to places I wouldn't have gone with just a piano or non sequencing machine and allowed me to express myself in ways I couldn't before. Any instrument that does this is successful.

Phil Robins a part time user from UK writes:
What can anyone say about the M1 that hasn't already been said? It is still used all over the world. I've read some of the reviews on this site and am amazed that people even mention that they still use the factory sounds. I've had my M1 for about 8 years and I don't even remember the factory sounds except maybe 00 Universe. Its so easy to program and use, coupled with the fact that there are many banks available from everywhere that it seems a waste of time to even use them. I myself have around 120 banks of Prog's which I would be willing to trade for a small fee. Email me if anyone is interested..... P.s. If anyone wants a copy of the video by Julian Colbeck, I have one but its not really much good, except perhaps, for beginners. P.P.s the sequencer...... Never even tried to use it.......

Geza Sarvari a part time user from Hungary writes:
Things I don't like: the breaking buttons, joystick, sequencer, weight, noise.

Things I like: the unmistakable SOUND, user friendliness, effects.

This thing is almost timeless...if it's good for Jon Lord or Keith Emerson,

why shouldn't I use it?

xxx a hobbyist user from Canada writes:
M1 is only a synth for those who wants to play around with sequencers and stuffs. But if one is reaching for professional, I say... forget about the M1. It will save you trouble and $$$. Personally, I think the Yamaha SY85 is a LOT better.
