I'm hearing many negative opinions relating to the Minimoog. Seems to me many younger synth players are judging the quality of an analog synth based on newer digital standards and characteristics. 20 years ago I played a Minimoog in a college electronic music class. I was and am impressed with the mini's layout and sound making ability. It will do standard subtractive synthesis as well as FM synthesis by using oscillator 3 as a modulator tuned within audio range. Using osc. 3 as an LFO gives you several pulse,a triangle, and 2 sawtooth waves to create many vibratos, trills, warble fx... The control panel of the mini looks deceptively small for what you can make it do. The unique construction and crafted look of the mini all the more put it in a class of its own(a true classic)!!!

It's just as great as I thought it would be. I'll never sell mine! I love it. Fat bass, sweet leads, mellow sounds to harsh sounds the minimoog does them all extremely well. Don't take my word for it. Go out and buy one for yourself.

Nothing else touches it for monophonic analog
synthesis. Why buy a cheap alternative. They aren't that expensive.
I heard Moog in Cinncinati Ohio was
producing reasonably good Mini's.

What can be said of the minimoog that hasn't said yet.The zenith of all analog synths of all time!

The Minimoog has more of clear identity to its sound than other synths, it is very personal in sound.
