Picked up a nice MM+ for $900 CDN. Have sent it off to Germany for the Lintronic advancement. In the mean time I had a chance to get in some licks: Definetly the biggest sounding synth I've ever laid ears on. A rather wooley, warm sound by default. Even with only 4-voices originally tuneing on this one, it still coursed with power. Lots of insightful features... an analog workstation of sorts. Never used the on-board sequencer, don't mind to see it gone with the advancement; I'm really looking forward to all it's new found MIDI control. With all technical itches scratched, this will be my axe.
Note: I am really picky about quantising in the filters, tuning etc. The MM+, without the L.A. passed my real-time tests quite easily (even having only 100 steps). At high resonance, the steps could be heard softly in the upper registers. After L.A., the the DACs are bit upped and 27 steps are added to aligned the thing with MIDI... I feel positive it should be fine. I'll re-post when I get some time under my belt with it.
The braun of the thing over-throws it's technical shortcomings for me, and proved itself worthy of the cost of the available advancement. Only the best!

I have the MM Plus now for more than 10 years. It is really a beast and a beauty! Before buying it (I payed $3000) I was warned NOT to buy it, as internally it was a terrible one. However I felt to much in love with this thing, so I bought it. Every 3 months I am tuning it. Keep everything very cleen and switch it on at least 4 hours before using it. No modifications on it were carried out, exeptionally the old original Moog-ones (and a very small reset button on the back). The way of using the MM+ is really superb, you have controll over everything (exept for the VCO-stability). If someone has a very broken down MM, please EMAIL me, so I can use it for the spares and keep it in a nice sate.

one would think that this synth should be the most amazing thing, I mean all the stuff inside of it should make it be able to run small countries, but in reality it just isn't munkeliek. unless you pay under a thousand dollars, this synth is just silly, sure its beautiful, and sounds like you're having your way with anyone from minnie mouse to big foot..go out and buy if you have to, but there's no reason why its worth what people are asking for it. and I love VCO's.
