yo, i must say that I originally bought this voyager as an experiment. Thought I'd play with it for a bit, & later kick it over for an A6 or some sh*t, but truthfully this spot is hot as hell, helping take my music up & up & up...its got the gravy!! don't sleep! very simple (maybe too simple for some), lots you can do, not fancy at all, except for the wood panelling...get yerself a delay, a phaser and the CV expander=BOOM!!! you're set makin one of a kind sounds, channelling universal forces onto track!!! strait up! Dissers are sleepin!!(!!!!) peace

Ah, but name one of those "cheapest analog synth now days offer 4 times the power of the voyager" that include waveshaping, three VCOs, dual Moog ladder filters, a three dimensional touchpad, patch storage, and full MIDI implementation?

A. Alesis ION more of the power and less of the cash plus 8 notes & 4 part multitimbral with stereo FXs too vs Voyager 1 note

Waiting...

Didn't think you could. So these things are labeled "70s obsolete features"?

Limited like the original Minimoog? Play with the filter slopes, the HP/LP configuration, the modulation options and you'll get timbres the Minimoog can only dream of. Other Voyager owners can get ARP sounds, SEM sounds, etc. I've gotten trumpet leads and huge sounding osc sync basses that the original won't get. It's all in knowing how to tweak the knobs - if you can't get other sounds out of the Voyager then the machine isn't defective, it's you.

I thought this place was being cleaned up.

Roro a part-time user from USA writes:
Many of the greatest synths of all time were monophonic - think of all the things you can use them for: basslines, lead lines, effects, making drum sounds to sample, etc. think about all the instruments which are monophonic - violins, cellos, woodwinds, horns. to criticize this great instrument by saying it "only plays one note" betrays incredible ignorance. yes many cheaper synths play chords, but they can't make as great a bassline as this one can.

Some of the reviews here are ridiculous. This is the best sounding synth for the money on the market today. It has the sounds of yesterday with the technological convienience of modern synths.
