Some of the reviews here are ridiculous. This is the best sounding synth for the money on the market today. It has the sounds of yesterday with the technological convienience of modern synths.

There is more to a synth than bass. To say this is a superior synth to a matrix 12 or a prophet 5/t8 is foolish. Its monophonic voice is sweet and it can create some interesting sounds. But, as with its minimoog ancestors, the soundscape is limited and the price excessive. It is not as variable as an ms20..or even 10. It always sounds like a minimoog and needs more sharpness, as that provided by the arp odyssey etc. I was given one on a SOR basis and returned it after a few weeks. The owner didn't seem to want it back. I had to phone him 5 or 6 times and ended up delivering it to him. You play it for a few days then it sits there. How many minis suffer in the same way? I don't think it's worth considering. There's tons of better stuff out there. The best classic ever? Not even quite close.

I have many classic analog synths poly and mono and this is by far the best IMHO. I have tested it against my old Model D and I do agree that the older moog at first sounds a bit fatter ,but that all changes when I take the RIGHT OUTPUT and feed it back into the AUDIO INPUT (WOW BAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!) My Voyager is transformed into a Model D on Crack!!!! It has more SUB bass more Growl and Grit like the true Analog Beast it is.

This synth is solid, musical and insperational. I think there should be more synths like this ,because it pushes you to program and create your own style...Im not about to synth bash ,but i feel that some people today rely on presets, effects and the usual bells and whistles to make them sound good when they can't play.. I for one am sick of playing synths that i cant shape whilst performing... I am sick of over EQing and compressing weedy synths to make them punch or sit in a mix. This synth crushes my SE-1x,Model D and Pro One the only synth that has a bit of dignity after a pepsi challenge is my ATC-1 (quite close has less bass but killer leads) I think some of the previous gripes have'nt been anything to with the Voyager I think it's to do with the price and the ongoing battle between analog and digital, quality over quantity. One day the people who have thrown out there tape machines, analog consoles and vintage synths will find that convinence is cool ,but it doesnt sound like a record...

If it were stolen i'd put it in a fradulant claim to my insurance company and replace it pronto..

very powerful synth, FULL OF CHARACTER. Its got some limits, but the limits let you hone in on the oh so special things you will come by. I had a virus kb before this for 2 years and I have no remorse for selling it off. The voyager's just got "the vibe." It fills out my monitors beautifully, works magic on my tracks. I would suggest getting a delay for more ambient type sh*t...don't sleep!

This is a very expensive indulgence. You will use very rarely so think before you buy. With minimoog samples and real minimoogs everywhere, why bother? At least a real minimoog has some antique value. This hasn't. The minimoog lead n' bass sounds are a cliche, so buy if you want to sound like countless others. I don't think the hardware will survive on this offering. Hmm....that display...very expensive and probably short term...well it is a sort of moog after all.
