The Mg-1 is a masterpiece. Mine cost me $50 at the salvation army 4 yars ago. The noise and polyphony features are stellar. Set it up for a continuous random waveform and it will play you a sweet little robot lullaby. Ideal for people who are interested in analog, but do not want to deal with prices that rich posers are willing to pay just to be seen onstage with a brand name moog. Don't put up with any losers giving you crap for it being a realistic.

The thing is built cheap and thats why you find one cheap.Kinda limited as far as moogs go but hey, "it's a frikin analog and I love frikin analogs" ,so buy I'de probably buy it anyway.I did like the sub-bass I heard from it.... tasty!

I CANNOT believe how much this synth is fetching. I bought one for about 25 UK pounds in 1982, used it twice and packed it away. Its been sitting in my garage for the last eight years gathering dust! I may very well get it out and give it a bit of TLC, then sell it!...or maybe not :)

Picked one of these babies up at a friends 'basement bargain' sale for $50, and I love it...as basic as you can get in terms of programming, but better sounding basslines than a lot of modern synths could ever produce! Mine is shot to hell, sliders and pots crackle and change relentlessy, and it DOES feel like a toy, but it still sounds great! I give it a 4 based solely on sound...if I were to rate its build and reliability, I would probably give it a 1.5 or so...I wouldn't pay more than I did for one unless its MINT and or for colecting purposes though...for a few more bills you could pick up something a little surdier that sounds just as good.

a friend of mine had one for a few years, I always liked to play with it, today I got my own for free! I bought a bass amp from a guy, he threw the synth in for free... :-) This is a true synthizer- you actually combine the sounds it makes with your hands- it can make from nice warm almost fender rhodes sounds to wierd swirling cheesey sci-fi movie noises.... totally cool....
