Mine makes metal insect mating music from a billion years in the future. If you have ever been stupid enough (like I was) to huff carpet cleaning solvent or anything, it can kinda sound like that on "random" with the cutoff set just right, without damaging your brains. But ran thru a 100 watt tube head and my home-made bass bin speaker, it WILL hurt people's ears. Definitely work 2 hundred bucks, but then again, anything Moog is a real rip these days, so...you either get a good deal or really just HAVE to have that fat sound...

I have a lot of strange and unique gear, but nothing comes close to my Moog MG-1. I've only had "R-2" about a year, but was in a band with him for about three. This keyboard is amazing and kind of plays itself as we go along. I swear this thing has a soul or something. If you have one do yourself the favor of replacing the sliders, it's worth it! PS- Don't sell it, you'll regret it. Just ask the guy I got mine from... PeaceThroughMusic DanTheFunkyDrummer

If you see this synth for under 200 dollars american and do not snatch it up you are a bloody fool. Go on these dumb bulleting boards and complain about how much Virtual Analog sucks and blah blah blah and still you are a fool.

This bitch sounds like heaven. Is it as versatile as the mini? Hell no. Is it vintage? Yes. Does it rumble the speaker cones? Oh yeah. It's the real deal.

I saw a pro music store selling this thing for about $650 in NYC. Out=fucking=rageous. And you know who you are....I'll get you someday, gadget.

synthfreak a hobbyist user from USA writes:
Judging from the prices I don't think too many people get upset that it was sold by Realistic. It does have the name Moog on it so Moog snobs can still say "look at me" . I love the MG-1. It was my first analog synth. I had 3 at one time. I wish I kept them.
