i bought the synclavier off andy and found it (after creating my own sounds) to be the best ever synth.i have had everything from moog to ppg and have two fairlights.i disign synths for a well known software company and nothing and i mean nothing comes close to this remarkable synth. i want another one as a spare. for any synth players out there im working on a pc emulation of this synth and will post it here when finished. (over 20 years programming synth)

Amigo a professional user from USA writes:
Boy, that guy Andy really had no clue what to do with his Synclavier! I got mine pretty cheap and I love it. It's the best sound designing too I've ever came accross. Like the original reviewer, I was able to create new sounds within less than 15 minutes of playing with it (without the manual). A truly remarkable synth! You can create sounds on it like no other synth would allow you to. And it it's so easy and fast to come up with new sounds. I mostly sample new sounds and they are all very unique and one of the kind samples. Oh, and there is still service for Synclaviers (it's a great one, too!), as well as spare parts for repair and upgrade (mine never had problems yet!), and contrary to this guy Andy says, the parts are very resonable now (perhaps in the past they were overpriced). So the bottom line is, if you come accross a Synclavier II for a reasonable price, buy it! You'll be doing yourself and your musician's creativity a huge favor. You will always be able to come up with new, fresh and beautiful sounds, which will set you apart from the rest of the musical world that use the same sound and samples over and over again....

SynclavFan a professional user writes:
I bought my Synclavier II for less than 2K and love it! It works great and the sounds are unbelievable. The programming part is the best. I can program a new sound in a few minutes. It even beat my Nord Modular for easiness and speed in which I can program this thing - and that's just from the keyboard. But soon I will get myself a second hand Mac laptop and will be able to use it to create sounds and sequences when I hook it up to my Synclavier II. I'm not sure why the previous reviewer had so many problems. Mine works like a charm. The only downside is that I the keyboard has no velicity but that's no big deal (I can hook up any MIDI keyboard and then I'll have velocity). Anyway, if you ever find one in good condition, buy it you'll love it. But don't ever pay more than 3-4K for it or you'll be a sucker like my previous reviewer (sorry, Andy!).
