Paid $150 locally for mine. It's very important to buy a V2, which sounds way better than a V1. Bigger and clearer, much more profesisonal. I had it less than a week before I sold my TR-808. It sounds 99.99% exactly like the one I had and was able to take the 2k from selling my 808 and buy a Serge panel.

Have never A/Bd it to a real 909 but the 909 sounds are good enough to make a techno track with. I sequence it with my actual TR-707 and Linn Drum.

I bought one of these machines and have to agree the sounds are quite good but the output is a bit low but just compress the sounds and you will get a great analogish sounding drum track for your music, however,I have to say that after a while I decided I wanted the real machines that the drumstation emulates and I do have to say the drumstation makes good drum sounds but they lack the punch of the real deal,my 909 is awesome. The drum station does a passable 909 but when you compare the two there is no comparison. 100 % for effort though and the drum station will still punch holes in walls with its kicks and distortion.a definite 5 out of 5 but I recommend saving up and getting a real 909 because the sequencer on it is the great. Drumstation is great for live work and the drum sounds are definitely good but i found them to be a bit 'plastic' compared to the real thump of a 909.

but all in all a great bit of kit

The 909 kit is good except the handclap. The 808 is ok. I often run out of voices. The output is a bit low. The distorsion is real bad. But it´s a good source for the 808/909 sounds though.

I run my drumstation thru a behringer ultrafex pro and wholla..... you have your neighburs banging on your door.... The 909 kick and hi-hats and cymbal are great. Rest is OK.
